Summary[edit]

Description
English: Bajun Dhow Omar captain goes out fishing in Lamu, on the Kenyan coast. An isolated community ravished by Al-Shabaab terrorism on the mainland, Lamu Island offers little of the modernity of Nairobi and, with that, little in terms of employment to its residents. Global Heritage Funds lists Lamu as a site facing irreparable loss, threatened by economic neo-liberalism and terrorism, not to mention the threat of climate change.
