Summary[edit]

Description
English: Roadside sellers in Kenya take up a huge potion of the road reserves along major highways and in the city centers. The trade is unregulated, unlicensed, and in some cases, in direct contravention with Zoning and Trade bi-laws. The traders encountered during my time capturing these images for use in Wiki Loves Africa project were wary of any attempts to be included in the photos. The photos were taken on the stretch of the Great North Road between Nakuru and Gilgil in Nakuru County. There are no clear records of volumes of trade engaged in by the roadside traders, but an estimate by a County Government of Nakuru official placed the figure at hundreds of millions of Kenyan Shillings in Nakuru County alone.
