Urgent Need: Support for Elderly Kenyan AIDS Victims
To the northwest from Nairobi, Kenya sits a city by the name of Nakuru. In this city, Pastor Bernard Oduor watches over and cares for 67 mostly elderly AIDS victims. Several of these contracted AIDS because they were raped. During the unrest in this nation, the building where they were housed was burned to the ground, along with all of the supplies and necessities to help them. Just simple things such as water to drink or a foam pad to sit or lay on has been difficult to obtain, not to mention food, medical attention, and basic covering for the cool nights on the ground.
Immediate help is needed to aid these dear people until additional assistance can be attained. Another building to house these precious people needs to be obtained. There are facilities available for rent that are adequate for this purpose.
AGM estimates that we need to lend assistance for 12-18 months, since they are needing to basically start all over again. A vehicle is also needed, but can be hired at this time. We need to take care of the basics first. We estimate that a minimum of $500.00 a month is needed just to cover the basic needs over the period of time specified. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
May the Lord of Glory bless each one that will care for the needs of these who cannot help themselves.
