Urgent Need: AGM Endowment Fund

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Kenya Center for World Evangelism (KCWE) and Agape Global Missions Inc. (AGM)  Project Application

Project Title: East African School of Ministry 2008 Satellite School Project

Amount Required:

KCWE requests $7,500 to establish  the Africa AGM Endowment Fund:  $5,000 as an initial start up capital, $2,500 budget requirements

What is AGM Endowment Fund:

This is a growing pool of money established by donations received which are carefully invested to maximize income while the principal will be permanently restricted from being spent so that money from donors including one time cash gifts keep on giving in perpetuity. Due to permanent restriction of the initial principal (donation) and the phenomenon of compounding, the AGM Endowment Fund is virtually guaranteed to grow over time. The fact that the principal also grows through continuous fund-raising, the growing pool of the principal fund will produce more and more income for grants to support East African School of Ministry and Joint ventures of KCWE/AGM in Africa.

The AGM Endowment Fund’s Goal:

To fund 34 (thirty four) self sustaining church based satellite ministry schools and Pastoral training centers in 21 newly established mission stations in Western Kenya Region and Eastern Uganda.

How the AGM Endowment Fund will work:

The donor makes a gift to the AGM Endowment Fund.

The donation is deposited into the AGM account at Kenya Commercial Bank and Discount Securities Kenya Limited, which is conservatively invested in stocks and other approved viable income earning financial vehicles.

Each month, 90% of the earnings from the principal are transferred to a grant making account – the remaining 10% converts into principal and also becomes permanently restricted.

The budget Committee of East African School of Ministry (EASM) applies for grants to help fund its satellite schools and other operations.

The Board of Trustees appointed from among the officers of KCWE/AGM meet bimonthly to review the EASM’s grant applications and disburse the funds from the AGM Endowment Fund.

KCWE/AGM reports back to donors and the AGM, USA office about the viability of the stock earnings of the fund, the projects funded and the results of the funded projects, inspiring the donor to donate additional funds to grow the AGM Endowment Fund.

Remarks: Continuous fund-raising and careful choosing of the viable income earning financial vehicles is the key to the success of the AGM Endowment Fund. The more we raise in principal, the more we can award in grants to support East African School of Ministry and other joint ventures of KCWE/AGM in Africa.

Urgent Need: Support for Elderly Kenyan AIDS Victims

Friday, April 18th, 2008

To the northwest from Nairobi, Kenya sits a city by the name of Nakuru. In this city, Pastor Bernard Oduor watches over and cares for 67 mostly elderly AIDS victims. Several of these contracted AIDS because they were raped. During the unrest in this nation, the building where they were housed was burned to the ground, along with all of the supplies and necessities to help them. Just simple things such as water to drink or a foam pad to sit or lay on has been difficult to obtain, not to mention food, medical attention, and basic covering for the cool nights on the ground.

Immediate help is needed to aid these dear people until additional assistance can be attained. Another building to house these precious people needs to be obtained. There are facilities available for rent that are adequate for this purpose.

AGM estimates that we need to lend assistance for 12-18 months, since they are needing to basically start all over again. A vehicle is also needed, but can be hired at this time. We need to take care of the basics first. We estimate that a minimum of $500.00 a month is needed just to cover the basic needs over the period of time specified. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

May the Lord of Glory bless each one that will care for the needs of these who cannot help themselves.

Urgent Need: Sponsors for Orphans Needed

Friday, April 18th, 2008

AGM has  16 children in Kisii, Kenya that need immediate sponsorship. Even though each child has been placed under temporary care, this is very limited and puts a strain on the families they are assigned to. Our best solution is to find those that would be willing to sponsor these children for $30 per month for each child. This money will house, clothe, feed, educate, pay school fees and buy uniforms for school, and purchase limited medical supplies – all for just $30 per month per child.

AGM is blessed to have one of our finest Bishops that is personally overseeing this project there in the city of Kisii, located in the northwestern area of Kenya. His name is Bishop Kenny Kombo.

It would be great if we could find those individuals or a church group or a class that would take on this project. AGM would love to see communication take place between the children and the sponsors, and we will work to make that happen for each sponsor that desires to communicate with their sponsored child.

Thank you for your consideration of this project, and may the Grace of our Lord Jesus be upon you
