During the recent political unrest in Kenya Africa, we were faced with the loss of two pastors’ lives as well as several church members who were also killed, many churches vandalized, equipment and supplies stolen or destroyed, homes destroyed, etc. Even though agreements have now been made among the governmental leaders, the country is left in shock and many people in great need.
One of our Bishops there had a school for 300 homeless children. It was so damaged that it left the Bishop with nothing to start over with, plus all of the equipment and teaching materials were stolen.
Another one of our Pastors was caring for 60 elderly people that have AIDS. Their facilities were destroyed, leaving everyone homeless and sleeping on the ground.
AGM has tried to help in every way we know how. Our current effort is to send a 40 foot container loaded with medical supplies, teaching materials, blankets, clothing, equipment for schools and children, first aid items, and much more to help these people begin again. Just to send the container costs $8,000.
As you can see, much is needed, whether it’s through direct monetary gifts or items to fill the container. We urge everyone who can to get involved and help at whatever level they can.
