Larry and Joyce Nelson’s trip to Kenya (Nov. 30 – Dec. 6, 2007)

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

There were 50 new Pastors licensed and/or ordained into the Ministry. Many of these had been in training for up to two years. We ordained 10 to be Bishops.

We’re not sure how many received salvation, but there were several, and many miracles of healing were noted. We water baptized 27 in the river. We dedicated the Medical Center and the Children’s Center that we helped to build last year. We dedicated the new church that we’re in the process of building. $3,400 is needed at this time for the sheets of tin for the roof. This church started July 1, 2007. There were 627 members in attendance when we dedicated it on Sunday, December 2, 2007.

We held a Leadership Conference in Eldoret with great results. We did a Bishop/Pastor Luncheon and a Bishop/Pastor Breakfast for just leaders that was tremendous. We were blessed to do the Commencement Service for a Bible School that was graduating their two-year students to go into teaching or pastoral work. We met with key Bishops on an individual basis. A member of Parliament and key government leaders came and met with us for over four hours.

We had a special time of meeting with key Board Members of the Kenya Center for World Evangelism. A special time of signing of partnership documents was held with many Bishops and Pastors in attendance as Agape Global Missions and the Kenya Center for World Evangelism entered into partnership together. KCWE will be the training arm for leaders and ministries for AGM, while AGM will continue to be a church planting organization, and mentoring Ministry for Bishops and Pastors.

We met with the top leaders from the Fig Ministries Organization that represents Arch Bishop Brown here in the USA.

With all of this, we still took the time to work with key Bishops to develop a strategy for reaching their areas for the Kingdom, and to begin pulling together an agenda for evangelism, church planting, ministerial training for leaders, and development of plans to reach children and orphans in key areas of the country.

This is just a short overview of some of the things that were started and/or accomplished on this mission trip.
